To promote cultural diversity, Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta has organized a short course on pluralism.

The two-week course will equip NGO activists with advocacy and networking skills. “These activists will be invited to learn how to conduct proper research on multicultural advocacy and other material usually provided for master’s courses,” dean of the program Mustaghfirah Rahayu said on Thursday.

She said excursions would be planned for the course participants to the homes of minority groups like the Islamic traditional boarding school for the transgendered in Gedungtengen, Yogyakarta and the spiritual group of Sapta Darma, also in Yogyakarta.
