Kompilasi Catatan dari Lokakarya Mediasi Antariman

CRCS UGM – 13 Desember 2017

Narasi bahwa agama merupakan sumber konflik telah banyak menyebar dan dipercaya begitu saja oleh banyak orang. Konflik yang melibatkan orang-orang beragama, dengan aksentuasi terhadap agama sebagai penanda identitas utama dalam konflik itu, kerap memenuhi kepala berita media massa. Namun agama sebagai sumber perdamaian jauh lebih jarang diliput. Padahal yang terakhir ini sama pentingnya dari yang pertama. Dalam hal ini, mengikuti Ihsan Ali-Fauzi, kita tidak adil dalam pikiran: konflik berbalut agama kerap dikaji, namun bagaimana agama di sisi lain juga mampu mendorong perdamaian kurang dipelajari.

Bermula dari kehendak untuk mendalami agama sebagai penggerak perdamaian itulah kuliah umum dan Lokakarya Mediasi Antariman (The Institutionalization of Interfaith Mediation) bersama Imam Muhammad Ashafa, Pastor James Wuye, Maria Ida Giguiento, dan Jacky Manuputty digelar di Universitas Gadjah Mada pada 10-13 Oktober 2017. Acara ini diselenggarakan atas kerja sama Pusat Studi Agama dan Demokrasi (PUSAD) Paramadina, Lembaga Antar-Iman Maluku, Program Studi Agama dana Lintas Budaya (CRCS) UGM, Magister Perdamaian dan Resolusi Konflik (MPRK) UGM, Institute of International Studies (IIS) UGM, Tanenbaum Foundation, dan Yayasan Tifa.

Mahasiswa CRCS dan staf IIS UGM telah menulis catatan dari kuliah umum dan lokakarya itu, sebagai liputan agar hal-hal yang dibicarakan di acara itu dapat lebih tersebar ke khalayak ramai. Catatan-catatan itu telah diunggah secara terpisah di web CRCS dalam satu seri liputan. Agar lebih mudah dibaca, kini catatan-catatan itu telah dikumpulkan dalam satu berkas PDF dan dapat diunduh gratis di bawah ini.
