There is a rising awareness among peace scholars and religious leaders that the future of sustainable peacebuilding relies on the work of inner transformation. However, this dimension of peacebuilding has not been paid proper attention in mainstream peace education and even within religious settings. Higher education institutions can provide opportunities to overcome some of the problems that religious institutions face in developing transformative inner peace education.  Dr. Ly will share her experiences teaching peace at Payap University and other Asian religious institutions and the challenges that she has faced in her work.

Le Ngoc Bich Ly is a faculty member of the PhD Program in Peacebuilding at Payap University in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where she teaches and writes about religion, gender, and interfaith peacebuilding. She earned her PhD degree in interreligious studies at the Indonesian Consortium for Religious Studies in 2017.
